Railroad Death Roll.
During the twelve months ending June 30, 1905, 836 persons were killed
and 13,793 injured, as the result of accidents on railroad trains,
according to a report of the Inter-State Commerce Commission issued
Monday. Comparison with 1904, shows an increase of eleven killed and
4192 injured among passengers and employees, the increase is killed
being wholly among passengers, while the number of employees killed
shows a decrease of 106. There were 1131 collisions and 1353 derailments
affected passenger train. The damage to cars, engines and railways by
these accidents amounted, to $2,410,617.
