George Vaughn a 40 year resident of Merced County died Friday, August 8, 2003 at the age of 54. He was born in Anadarko, OK on July 3, 1949. George served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a truck driver for over 25 years. He loved his children and grandchildren and he loved riding his motorcycle. He was a proud member of the Vietnam Vet's motorcycle club. George also enjoyed camping and fishing. He was a member of the Moose lodge, The ECV and he worked with Toy's For Tots. George was true friend and was always there to help others in need. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Dorothy Vaughn.

Mr. Vaughn is survived by two daughters, Michelle Serena (Vaughn) and Kaitlin Vaughn, Two sons, Michael Vaughn and Ryan Vaughn. Five grandchildren, Marcus Johnson, Michael Salazar, Malik Salazar, Marina Cardoza and Christian Vaughn, Three sisters, Zella Cottrell, Donna Hudwardson and Linda Cox, Two brothers, Wayne Vaughn and Robert Vaughn. he is also survived by his loving companion Sally Vaughn.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 15, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Winton VFW Hall. Arrangements are under the direction of Whitton Family Funeral Service.
