 Arthur Cottrell Vaughn, a mechanic known for his friendly attitude at Winton's Arch Rocket Gas Station, died Thursday. He was 67.
 Mr. Vaughn, who enjoyed gardening and lawn work, was born in Oklahoma. He was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons and lived in Winton for 37 years.
 He is survived by his wife, Dortha Vaughn; three sons, George Vaughn of Atwater, Wayne Vaughn of Merced and Robert Vaughn of Morango Valley; three daughters, Donna Hundwardsen of Winton, Linda Cox of Florida, and Zella Pankratz of California; and his brother, Odis Vaughn of Oklahoma.
 Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Redwood Chapel at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home in Atwater with Pastor Gary Martin of Winton's First Southern Baptist Church presiding. Burial will be in the Winton District Cemetery. Arrangements by Ivers & Alcorn
