Death of Brock Thurman.

E. B. Thurman, who has been an invalid for six or seven years from paralysis, died at the residence of his brother-in-law, D. Ladoucer, last Tuesday evening at the age of 37 years. The deceased was a native of Hornitos, Mariposa County, and was the second son of Eli and Catherine Thurman, pioneer citizens of that town. He lived in his native town until he was 20 years of age, when he removed with his parents to Merced to reside. For a number of years he was one of the careful and reliable drivers of the Yo Semite stage company, driving a six horse stage from Merced to Yo Semite Valley and return. He afterwards drove stage for the same company from Madera to the valley, and remained with the company until sickness compelled him to abandon the calling. Since he was paralyzed he has spent part of his time in Madera and the other in Merced. The funeral took place from the residence of his brother-in-law Thursday morning last, Rev. J. D. Lewis, officiating.
