Obituary Notice
Victor Stoops, born November 11, 1910 in Gary, Colorado and died on November 16, 2000 in Oakland, California at 90 years old.
 He received his BA in Art from the University of Northern Colorado in 1937 and his MA in 1940. He taught fine arts in Greely and Denver, Colorado.
 In 1947, he bought a farm in El Nido where he raised crops and had a dairy and served on the School Board. He went to work for the Merced County Social Service Department in 1964 and retired in 1975. He moved to Merced in 1972,
 After the death of his wife, Elizabeth Faris Stoops in 1993, he moved to St. Paul's Towers, a retirement community in Oakland, California.
 He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Alex Campbell of Berkeley, his grandson, Michael of Oakland and his sister, Shirley Christner of Carson City, Nevada.  
 According to his wishes, his ashes will be scattered at sea in a private family ceremony on December 6, 2000.
