Following an illness of less than a week, Frank Silveira 80, passed to his reward Monday night at midnight in Merced General Hospital, the victim of a stroke. Mr. and Mrs. Silveira sold the ranch home east of Atwater in August and had just recently taken possession of their newly acquired home on Fir Street.

Born on the Island of Flores in the Azores group, Mr. Silveira came to the USA when a lad of 17, settling in Madera where he remained until 1902 when he moved to the ranch near Atwater where he lived 42 years.

He was married in Madera in 1901 to Miss Marie Branco, who with three children, Roland Silveira and Mrs. Marie Silva, all of Atwater, and Mrs. Anna Alton of Riverbank and six grandchildren survive.

Besides being an active member of the Full Gospel Church of Atwater, Mr. Silveira was also affiliated with Buhach Council 32, I.D.E.S., and Atwater Council No. 78, U.P.E.C.

Funeral services under the direction of Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home will be held in the Full Gospel Church in Atwater Friday morning at 11 o'clock, the Rev. S. Albert Ogle, pastor of the church, conduction the last rites. The remains will be laid to rest in Winton Cemetery.
