WELL-KNOWN FARMER IS CALLED BY DEATH
Frederick W. Pilger, a well-known Merced county farmer, passed away at his home in the British Colony Monday afternoon following an illness of ten days from pneumonia. He was a native of Pennsylvania, aged 69 years, and had been engaged in farming for the past twenty-one years. He was an honest and industrious man and commanded the respect and esteem of all who knew him.
Surviving relatives are his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Pilger; a son, John Pilger of Merced, and a daughter, Miss Laura Pilger of Stockton.
Funeral services, at which Rev. A. W. Gray officiated, were held at the chapel of Welch & Griffin Tuesday afternoon, and remains were taken to Fresno for cremation.
