Mrs. Minerva W. Myres, for fifteen years a highly respected resident of this city, passed away early last Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Oliver, death being due to advanced age.

Mrs. Myres was a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and was aged 82 years. She spent her early life in Ohio, coming to California twenty-four years ago to reside in Pomona. Following the death of Mr. Myres in May 1913, she came to Merced and had since made her home with her daughter, and until her health failed she was active in local W. C. T. U. and church work she was a woman of many noble virtues and was respected by all who knew her.

Surviving relatives are two daughters and a son - Mrs. Elva V. Nelson of San Francisco, Mrs. Myrtle Oliver of Merced and G. Adrien Myres of San Francisco.

Re. J. S. Stubblefield, pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church, officiated at the funeral services which were held in the Welch & Griffin chapel Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment was in the family plot in the Odd Fellows' cemetery.
