Glenn R. Casad Dies In Fresno
Tragedy struck again in the Casad family when Glenn Roy Casad, 32, son of
Raleigh Casad of Merced, died Sunday afternoon in a Fresno Hospital of infantile
paralysis. Casad's elder son, Clinton died a number of years ago of the same
disease while on an engineering project in Peru.
Glenn and his wife, Lucille, and daughters, Glenda and Brenda, were on a
vacation trip on the July 4th and came through Merced to stop for a visit with
the senior Casads. He complained of being tired and upon reaching his home in
Fresno was taken ill with his death following.
Born In Merced
Glenn was a native of Merced and was graduated from high school here and
from Fresno State College. He enlisted in the air corps and served as a
lieutenant during World War II. Upon his discharge he took his former position
with Dean Witter and Company in San Francisco and later was transferred to
Fresno where he has made his home since.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Ivers and Alcorn Mission Chapel.
Legion Member
Glenn was a member of the Fresno Elk's Lodge and the American Legion. His home
was at 2243 Cambridge Ave., Fresno.
He is survived by his father, Raleigh Casad, and Mrs. Casad, by his wife,
Lucille, and daughters, Brenda and Glenda. His mother, the late Lillian Casad,
died a number of years ago.
