Obituaries
MARIE BRANDON
LE GRAND -- Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the J. Vernon Ivers
Chapel of Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home in Merced for Marie Elizabeth Brandon,
95, a longtime Le Grand resident who died Saturday in Merced.
Funeral services are to be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes
Catholic Church here with the Rev. Alex Ignacio officiating. Burial will be in
Plainsburg Cemetery.
Mrs. Brandon was born Dec. 5, 1884 in Willow City, N.D. and lived in Le Grand
for the past 65 years.
She was the living oldest member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and was a
member of the church's Alter Society. She also was a charter member of
American Legion Auxiliary Post 660 and a member of Merced American Legion
Auxiliary Post 83.
Mrs. Brandon was preceded in death by her husband, Judge R.C. Brandon, in
1980. Two brothers, four sisters and three grandchildren also preceded her in
death.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas Brandon of Fairfax and Myron Brandon of
Merced; two daughters, Betty Randrup of Le Grand and Iva Dailey of Charleston,
W. VA., 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel. The
family requests contributions be made to the Le Grand Farm Bureau Scholarship
Fund or the Merced Historical Society.
