FROM FRESNO FLATS
Death of W. B. Anderson, an Old Pioneer

Fresno Flats, June 11. -- W. B. Anderson, an old resident of Fresno and Merced counties, died at Grub Gulch, in this county, last Sunday, of dropsy, at the age of 68.

For the past eight years he had been proprietor of the Grub Gulch hotel. He was highly respected as a man of honor, and had been an active spirit in the development and improvement of that section of the county, and his good work will long stand as a monument to his memory.

Mr. Anderson was a pioneer, having come here from Kentucky early in the fifties, and for several years was located at Snelling, Merced county, in the hotel business, and was at one time county clerk of that county. He leaves a wife and several children, of whom all are grown.
